Verso, the canvas is stenciled Henry Ossawa Tanner, N.A. but the piece is unsigned. Tanner was an American/French, African American artist, 1859-1937, who was well known for his biblical scenes, and African American life. Titled on placard, -The Gathering-

Small area of paint loss at seat of chair of gray haired man, as denoted in images. One small area of repair, lower right. Modest craquelure. Overall very good - excellent. Original frame.
